Budding artists and nature lovers will be keen to sign up for the new Illustrator workshops titled Drawing from Nature: a Blue Mountains Bushwalk with Alison Jane Rice which start next month.

The new day-long illustrator workshops are expected to start in Leura, as early as Sunday June 4. This intimate workshop is designed for four participants and is suitable for beginners, intermediate students and bushwalkers. The six hour workshop costs $125 and runs from 11am to 5pm.

Draw inspiration from nature whilst learning fundamental skills of drawing. Students are invited to investigate the incredible diversity of forms and textures found in the natural world through a mid-morning bushwalk into the Jamison Valley.

Focus on observing and drawing natural objects brought into the studio, with the occasional use of reference photographs.

Participants will be shown a range of pencil techniques and encouraged to experiment with graphite pencils, combined with watercolour, to create subtle effects. Some previous drawing experience may be helpful but not essential.

Bookings are essential via the gallery reception 4784 1327 / 0457 156 879 or via email to info@botanicaltheatre.com.au.

A delicious afternoon tea is supplied and the gallery will be open from 10am for gift purchases. For details of what to bring for the course email or call.
