The 24th annual Winter Magic Festival will be held in Katoomba on Saturday (June 24), with promises of all-day entertainment, a street-full of stalls, the colourful parade and a performance by rock legends Dragon to finish off the day.
The fun starts at 9am when the stalls up and down the length of Katoomba Street open. The parade begins at 11.30am from Waratah Street, winding its way up the hill of Katoomba Street before turning left into Main Street, past the railway station, and left again into Parke Street, finishing at the back of the Carrington.
There will be entertainment all day on a number of stages with the final performance by Dragon outside the Carrington after the 6pm fireworks.
Other highlights include Hands, Heart and Feet on the main Stage at 9am. The full tribe consists of over 100 drummers and dancers, who play together in weekly classes.
The Welcome to Country is at 10.10am followed by The Wagana Aboriginal Dancers at 10.20am.
Venues include the Family Hotel, St Hilda’s, Metropole, Baroque room, Avalon jazz corner and the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre. Winter Magic also includes Art Street where up until July 31, participating shopfront windows along Katoomba Street, Bathurst Road and Waratah Street showcase the artisans of the Mountains.
