UPDATE: Two bushwalkers missing in the Blue Mountains since Wednesday have been located after walking into the yard of a home.

The 65-year-old man and 63-year-old woman walked into the backyard of a home at Cowdery Street, Glenbrook, about 7.45am today (Thursday, July 13) and sought assistance.

They appear in good health.

The couple had left their Inner West home yesterday morning and travelled to the Blue Mountains by train. When they did not return home they were reported missing by concerned relatives.

Police from Blue Mountains Local Area Command co-ordinated a search of the area throughout the night but could not locate them. That search was set to resume at 8am.

The couple told police they spent the night in the bush, sleeping in a cave before walking into the backyard at Glenbrook, some 5km from Blaxland Railway Station which is where they had started their walk

The search involved local police, Blue Mountains police rescue, NSW Ambulance paramedics and a Ambulance rescue helicopter.
