The owner of Inner Space furniture shop at Leura, where shots blasted out the front window in the early hours of this morning, said he had no idea why his shop was targeted.
Graham Gawne said police told him the man’s name, but it meant nothing to him.
“We don’t know who the guy is. We don’t know him,” he told the Gazette.
“At this stage we have no idea.”
Police were patrolling Leura about 1.40am on Thursday morning when they were told shots had been fired into Inner Space, which is near the top of Leura Mall.
A short time later, a 34-year-old man was arrested near the scene, and a loaded handgun was found nearby.
He remains in custody.
