A 32-year-old Penrith man has faced a spate of firearms charges in Penrith Court relating to a Leura shooting on July 20.
Cameron James Wright was charged with 10 firearms offences including firing a firearm into building with reckless disregard for safety.
It is alleged he fired eight rounds from a Beretta 9mm pistol into Inner Space furniture store in The Mall, Leura about 1.30am on July 20.
It also alleged police found a rifle in a station wagon belonging to Wright. He was arrested near the scene and taken to Katoomba Police Station on Thursday morning.
Wright’s other charges include two counts of not keeping a firearm safely; possessing ammunition without holding a licence; two counts of having an unregistered firearm; not keeping a firearm safely; possessing a loaded firearm in public place; and possessing an unregistered prohibited firearm.
He was also charged with not being a police officer wearing a police uniform for allegedly having a NSW Police Force badge.
The case was adjourned until September 15.
