Katoomba crash
A two-car accident on the highway near the BP service station in Katoomba saw one lane of traffic closed in the afternoon on July 21. Police, firefighters and paramedics attended the collision.
Injured walkers
Emergency services assisted bushwalkers hiking in the Blue Mountains National Park on July 22 and 23.
On July 22 a man was rescued at Empress Falls in Wentworth Falls after injuring his leg. Paramedics stabilised the man, believed to be in his 20s, before he was carried to a location where he could be winched out to a helicopter and transported to Westmead Hospital.
The next day emergency services were again called to Wentworth Falls to carry out a woman who had injured her knee at Jamison Lookout.
Firies help in Melbourne
Firefighters from Springwood and Katoomba Fire and Rescue NSW brigades were deployed to a massive recycling plant fire in Melbourne in mid July.
More than 150 homes were evacuated due to the toxic fumes. Blue Mountains crews assisted with specialist equipment.
