The National Parks Heritage Centre at Blackheath is hosting special events during the school holidays.
On Tuesday 26 September and Friday 6 October 2017, 10am–noon, join the Aboriginal ranger for tree painting, using natural ochre and your own imagination. You will learn more about the rich language behind some traditional symbols, and have a unique opportunity to get creative and make a natural work of art in the wild landscape of Blue Mountains National Park.
On Thursday 28 September and Wednesday 4 October 2017, 10am–noon, there is WilderQuest: Bug Hunt Adventures
Get ready to discover some of the planet’s most amazing creatures – bugs! You will be surprised at the many different bugs living right under your feet. Have fun learning all about where they live, what they eat, where they sleep and why they are so important. Bring a hat, water and sunscreen and you’re ready for your Bug Hunt Adventure.
And on Wednesday 27 September and Thursday 5 October 2017, 10am–noon, it’s WilderQuest: Sticks and Stones. Come and join our rangers for a morning of fun. We will be conducting a number of nature-based games and activities onsite at the NPWS Heritage Centre.
Tap into your inner nature explorer, challenge yourself and prepare to get creative!
