With the summer swimming season rapidly approaching it’s all about safe enjoyment of pools for Water Safety Week 2017.
For the eighth year in a row Blue Mountains Leisure Centres will be sending water safety packs to all pre-school and primary students in the Blue Mountains. Look out for the stickers, colouring in sheets and safety information, including Royal Life Saving’s essential information on supervision, water awareness and new swimming pool laws.
Heavily discounted intensives swimming lessons, provided by the Adam Crouch Foundation, will be offered at Katoomba, Springwood and Glenbrook pools these school holidays.
Blue Mountains pools go into full swing from the weekend of September 30-October 1 with Katoomba, Glenbrook and Lawson outdoor pools all open for summer business and school holiday fun. To celebrate there will be an open day at Lawson Swim Centre with free admission from 10am-2pm and a free ‘try out’ of aqua aerobics at 9.30am for those who want to kick start their fitness routine in time for summer.
Katoomba Aquatic Centre has a packed school holiday program with laser tag, soccer clinics and even a silent disco - the latest, fun phenomena from overseas where everyone gets wireless headphones and is taken through a series of games, activities and dances all under disco lights, lasers and special effects.
Call your local centre for more information or to book programs.
