Blue Mountains Artfest is an annual weekend art festival that celebrates the talents of local and regional Australian artists and artisans.
This year it kicks off with the opening night on Friday November 10 and runs until Sunday November 12. The event supports and raises money for much needed educational resources for Wentworth Falls Public School.
The feature artist this year is the incredibly talented Geoff Hayes. Hayes is a Bullaburra artist whose beautiful landscapes offer a unique perspective of the Kanangra region. Hayes was the winner of the 2016 Artfest ‘Judges Choice’ award.
During the weekend there will be ample opportunity to purchase quality artworks and handcrafts at affordable prices and just in time for Christmas. There will also be exciting activities for everyone including inspiring workshops, a wearable art parade, kids’ craft area, face painting, jumping castle, live music and dancing, not to mention a delicious BBQ and vegetarian delights, as well as an eye-popping cake stall and a café on site.
In celebration of Artfest, the children from Wentworth Falls Public School have collaborated to create seven amazing artworks that will be available for silent auction over the weekend. They will be showcased in the main exhibition area, so get your bids ready.
Adults are welcome at the Opening Night from 7:30pm. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. There will be a chance to mingle with the artists whilst enjoying delicious canapés and a drink. You will also get first dibs on buying the amazing art and craft.
