Stop Adani Blue Mountains will present Guarding the Galilee, a short film about the Adani coal mine, on Thursday, December 7 at the Yellow Rock Guides Hall at 7.30pm.
Presented by well-known Australian actor Michael Caton, the 30 minute documentary shines a spotlight on the battle to stop the biggest coal mine in Australia’s history, Adani’s Carmichael project.
The award-winning documentary team captures the raw beauty of the Queensland outback, where Adani’s coal mine threatens essential water resources.
Special guest speaker will be Dr Hamish Clarke from the University of Wollongong, a specialist in climate change and the links to increased risk of bushfire in our local regions.
“I’m hosting the screening in Yellow Rock because I’m concerned about the enormous impacts of the Adani coal mine on our climate, and the increased risk of severe bushfires. I’m also worried that I may well outlive the Great Barrier Reef, and my future grandkids will not get to see it,” said Peter Standen of Yellow Rock.
