Blue Mountains have been declared the champions of the Western Zone Plate after defeating Narromine at Orange on December 10.

Blue Mountains won the toss and batted first, posting a total of 311. There were excellent performances from Alex Crowther 120, Sam Trankle 68, and Zac Opdam 55. 

Without regular captain John Ford who’s wife had their first baby the day before, they were captained by veteran Nick Hancott.

Blue Mountains bowled Narromine out for 205 in the 39th over, with Peter Evans the best of the bowlers at 3/38, Gabriel Woodland 2/40, Chris Boothroyd 2/29, Sam Trankle 2/8. 

The plate was presented on the day by western zone chairman Mark Frecklington.
