From a postage stamp to Leura luxury: Cancer Wellness Support is revelling in its new premises in an historic old house on Railway Parade.
The not-for-profit charity, previously known as Blue Mountains Cancer Help, spent several years in cramped conditions under the Metropole at Katoomba.
It launched a building fund to raise money to buy its own place. Thanks to generous donors, it was able to buy the grand house which was previously used as a day centre for senior citizens.
Robyn Yates, founder and CEO of Cancer Wellness Support, said the spacious premises will allow them to expand their services, which include massage, acupuncture, yoga, art therapy, meditation and counselling.
“We can do more than one thing at the same time,” she said.
With multiple treatment rooms, they can offer more therapies, as well as holding functions and meetings.
The centre, at 104-105 Railway Parade, is near the station and also has parking for nine vehicles.
