A 63-year-old woman suffering dehydration and suspected heat exhaustion was airlifted from Springwood while walking with a group of bushwalkers in Sassafras Gully on Monday in hot conditions.
Just after midday, four paramedic units were called to assist the woman, an Ambulance NSW spokesman said.
The woman was winched out by helicopter to an oval at Springwood High School, where she was treated for dehydration and suspected heat exhaustion. She was then taken by road ambulance to Katoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
