Four people accused of abusing young boys at a Blue Mountains circus will remain behind bars until April.
Paul Cook, 52, Therese Ann Cook, 58, Yyani Cook-Williams, 29, and Clarissa Meredith, 23, were arrested on February 5 when detectives from the Child Abuse Squad swooped after a months-long investigation.
A 17-year-old girl, an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were also arrested but cannot be named as they were juveniles at the time of the alleged crimes.
The seven were charged with physically and sexually abusing three boys at a training circus in the Blue Mountains between 2014 and 2016. One of the boys was three when the alleged abuse began, while another was seven. All of the boys were under eight.
At Penrith Local Court on February 16, lawyer Bryan Wrench - representing the four adults - said the allegations made against his clients were not true.
He said false reports were made in the media that there was video footage of the alleged assaults.
"There is no such video footage in existence," Mr Wrench said.
He said, on the contrary, footage by one of his clients would show "nothing happened".
"On face value, there appears to be no medical evidence corroborating these claims, no DNA evidence," Mr Wrench said.
It was expected the group would apply for bail last Friday, but Mr Wrench said he would delay the application while he subpoenaed police for evidence to show "none of these incidents occurred".
A total of 127 charges have been laid against the seven, including kidnapping, sexual intercourse with a child under 10, aggravated sexual assault, common assault and producing child abusematerial.
Therese Cook faces 43 of the charges, while the 18-year-old man has been charged with 42 offences.
All four adults, who are related, will remain behind bars until their matter returns to court on April 6. The remaining three will return to a children's court in March.
