International Women’s Day was celebrated around the Mountains this week.
International Women's Day has been marked up and down the Mountains. Kindlehill School held special celebrations over the weekend, which coincided with the Edible Garden Trail. The school hosted a henna artist, flamenco music and dance workshops.
A breakfast was held on Thursday, March 8 at Springwood Country Club. The event was a partnership between Springwood Neighbourhood Centre, Women with Altitude and Federal MP Susan Templeman.
Women enjoyed music by Linda Mizzi, speeches from businesswoman Jen Ballard, Winmalee High student Molly Cameron, Aboriginal author and artist Cindy Laws, inspirational Upper Mountains woman SJ Staszak and Macquarie MP Susan Templeman. The theme was press for progress, where thoughts and ideas for gender parity were shared in a robust discussion.
