A Canley Vale man will face court today after police allegedly found 650 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of $1.6 million in a Faulconbridge home on Tuesday.
At 6am on Tuesday, Blue Mountains detectives attended Coomassie Avenue with a search warrant and allegedly located a number of rooms within the house had been converted into hydroponic set-ups.
A 26-year-old Canley Vale man was arrested and charged with enhanced indoor cultivation of plant for commercial purpose, organise/conduct/assist drug premise, found on/entering drug premise and use/consume electricity without authority.
The man was refused bail and was expected to appear in Penrith Local Court on Wednesday.
Blue Mountains Police Detective Chief Inspector Dietmar Almer said 477 cannabis plants were found growing throughout the ground floor of the premises and a further 177 seedlings were located.
Blue Mountains Police had commenced an investigation in February into the suspected cultivation of cannabis plants in Faulconbridge.
Meanwhile, also on Tuesday, police seized nearly 350 cannabis plants worth $1.75 million from an Emu Plains home in Hillcrest Road. No arrests have been made and inquiries continue.
