Update 3.45pm: The canyoning party has been successfully winched out from the bush using police helicopter.
“They were found to be in good spirits and uninjured, but it is a timely reminder when going into these areas to be well prepared, let people know where you are going, take a beacon, take food, take first aid, adequate supplies and know where you are going,” said NSW Ambulance Inspector Steven Lobley.
A rescue effort is underway near Mt Wilson, after a canyoning party failed to report in on Sunday evening.
The party is believed to be made up of four adults and a seven-year-old child, who departed on Sunday around 10am, according to a NSW Ambulance spokesman.
At 11am on Monday morning, emergency services located the party in bushland.
Ambulance Special Operations Team and NSW Police Rescue are currently on-scene assessing the patients.
Five paramedic units are involved in the effort and are being assisted by two Polair helicopters.
The incident comes after a similar rescue effort in Katoomba over the weekend, where a man was injured while canyoning, requiring a major rescue effort.
