A boutique healthcare clinic is to open in Blaxland on June 7.
Restore Healthcare Clinic will be home to a GP, physiotherapist, social worker and podiatry business.
Podiatrist David Logue said he was part of a successful multi-disciplinary health clinic in Katoomba, so when the opportunity became available to create a similar set-up in the Lower Mountains he jumped in.
It was a really good prospect to turn this site into what we did at Katoomba, he said.
The decor inside the clinic is extremely professional but not sterile. Theres the wow factor when you walk in.
The renovated Layton Avenue clinic was previously the site of the Blaxland Family Practice owned by Dr Barbara Jackson, who moved into the Lower Mountains Family Practice by the highway.
Mr Logue said his Blue Mountains Podiatry business had 60 people on the waiting list for the Blaxland opening, particularly elderly folk from the Lower Mountains who didnt want to travel too far and found visiting Penrith daunting.
This [clinic] will enable the local Mountain residents to have access to a state-of-the-art facility without having to go down to Penrith or further a field, Mr Logue said.
Physiotherapist Sally Wride and social worker Ashton Hayes commence work at the clinic on June 7, and a GP will be starting shortly.
