One Katoomba shopper is on a high this week after winning $250,000 on a $10 Instant Scratch ticket.
The winning ticket was bought at Katoomba Newsagency.
Collecting their top prize from NSW Lotteries on Tuesday, August 28, the winner admitted still being in shock.
With their bank balance about to balloon by $250,000, the winner has already begun contemplating how they will use their instant prize. But exactly what they will do will remain a mystery as the winner has chosen to remain anonymous.
Katoomba Newsagency owner Ray Cameron was stunned to learn he had sold such a big winning ticket.
“That’s great to hear. That’s certainly the biggest top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its we’ve ever sold.”
NSW Lotteries spokesman Matt Hart said many winners simply don’t believe their eyes when they scratch a big prize.
“They often call upon their family and friends to check and double check their ticket,” he said.
