Blue Mountains Theatre and HIT Productions have teamed up to bring the musical play Always…Patsy Cline to Blue Mountains audiences on Saturday, September 22.
Always...Patsy Cline is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer who died tragically at age 30 in a plane crash in 1963. The show is based on a true story about Cline’s endearing friendship with Houston fan Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in 1961 and corresponded with her until her death. Cline’s letters were consistently signed “Love always… Patsy Cline”.
The show includes 27 of Patsy’s unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight.
Always...Patsy Cline is a new production directed by AFI award-winner Denny Lawrence and starring Helpmann Award-winning Australian actress Kerrie Anne Greenland as Patsy Cline and popular stage star Mandi Lodge. Musical director Ross Sermons, who has performed with greats such Steve Winwood, features as guitarist.
Always…Patsy Cline - created and originally directed by Ted Swindley on Saturday, September 22 at 8pm, at Blue Mountains Theatre, 106 Macquarie Road Springwood. Tickets $55/$50 at the box office, on 4723 5050 or www.bluemountainstheatre.com.
