Federal candidates for the seat of Macquarie will attend an election forum hosted by the business community in Springwood on Monday, April 29.
Starting at 7.30pm at the Springwood Sports Club, the meet the candidates event will feature all four Macquarie candidates - sitting MP Susan Templeman (Labor), Sarah Richards (Liberal), Tony Pettitt (United Australia Party), and Kingsley Liu (Greens). Jointly organised by the Blue Mountains Regional Business Chamber and Springwood, Blaxland and Glenbrook Chambers of Commerce, the event is limited to current financial members of each of the chambers.
The Blue Mountains Regional Business Chamber recently hosted meeting about trends in the property, finance and business sectors. Forty business people attended the event at the Cancer Wellness Support Centre at Leura.
It was the first event of the year for the Blue Mountains Regional Business Chamber following some restructuring.
"As business structures and models change, so do the organisations that assist them need to change. At the Chamber over the past 12 months, it has been going through a bit of a renaissance. We've been renewing our business model, and looking for new opportunities for businesses to network, learn and showcase their services across the 26 villages of the Blue Mountains," said BMRBC president Mark Barton.
"The dedicated board has been assessing how it can best serve the Blue Mountains business community, building links between the eleven business groups and chambers across the mountains, and finding ways to increase the relevance of what we do.
"One of our aims for this year is to provide more networking events for you to meet with other business people, and more training events so you can get the information you need to grow your business. Keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks for our new website, our busy education events calendar for the rest of 2019, and some great networking events."
