About 60 people attended a mullet makeover at Lawson on Saturday, September 19 to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute.
Blue Mountains resident and trained barber and hairdresser Chris Keeble got out her scissors to perform the makeover on Carly Champion and Clark Hudson at the Blue Mountains Hotel.
Ms Keeble was keen to support mental health awareness, in particular suicide prevention, so she decided to organise the fundraiser.
She raised about $1000, with donations still coming in on September 21.
The hairdresser also performed a third mullet makeover on a member of the crowd who was keen to spruce up his "mullet in the making".
There were plenty others who turned up sporting their own fine mullets.
Ms Champion who had her long locks shorn into a mullet, said she has two young sons, and was supporting the cause on Saturday to show that "it isn't weak to speak."
