A young man has fallen to his death after a cherry picker toppled over in north-west Sydney this afternoon, the NSW Ambulance Service says.
The man was painting a block of apartments in Meadow Crescent, Meadowbank, about 2.15pm when he fell about 7.6 metres, emergency services and WorkCover said.

An ambulance spokeswoman said he was dead when paramedics arrived.
Tony Gallagher, who lived in the next block, said the cherry picker had been parked on the street since late last week and he had seen the man painting the timber handrails of the units yesterday.
Mr Gallagher said the road beside the apartments was very steep and fell away one floor, or about 2.4 metres, from the front of the building to its back.
He said the steepness of the road meant that knuckle booms or cherry pickers with additional supports, called outriggers, would usually be used.
The cherry picker he had seen at the apartments did not have outriggers, he added.
A WorkCover spokesman said it would be investigating the incident and an inspector had been sent to Meadowbank.
A report would be prepared for the coroner, the spokesman said.
