About the Role

The “Head of Product, Consumer” role joins the 9Now team at an incredibly exciting time of growth in the Broadcast Video On Demand sector. This role will strengthen a critical part of the 9Now portfolio and will lead a strong team of PM’s responsible for our Web, Mobile & Connected TV Products, sitting alongside the “Head of Product, Platforms”.

In this role you will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for the 9Now consumer portfolio across all 9Now touch points. The Head of Consumer Products will have their fingers on the performance pulse, translating data and customer led insights into impactful product strategies that move the needle. We are looking for an experienced Product leader, someone who deeply understands the streaming landscape and has the passion to drive the next generation of digital TV experiences for Nine.

In this role you will be a master of…

Strategy

  • Talking with viewers, content partners, and advertisers to identify their unique needs and develop a vision, strategy, and roadmap to win the market.
  • Establishing and monitoring success metrics that allow you to implement data driven strategies.
  • Driving Nine Entertainment strategic initiatives and feeding into 9Now strategic initiatives.
  • Championing the product experience and aligning the roadmap across devices, prioritising identified problem and opportunity areas based on how they ladder up to the overarching 9Now product vision and strategic focus areas.
  • Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders from across the business to understand and interpret requirements, identify opportunities, and communicate product strategy and rationale.

Influence

  • Working with the Sales team to develop commercial products that drive digital revenue.
  • Being the voice of the product strategy and leverage analytics to tie into and provide influence to the content and licensing strategy.
  • Inputting into the technology roadmap to help influence technology stack.
  • Engaging with the research team to understand insights relevant to the product portfolio and inputting into the research roadmap.
  • Work with the Head of Product Design to ensure UX best practices are being met throughout the Product group
  • Working with the Marketing team to plan and ensure alignment of promotional support.

Mentorship & Culture

  • Managing and mentor a team of high performing PM’s working across products.
  • An expert in the streaming industry bringing best in class industry insights into the organisation.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation and creativity within the Product team.

Qualifications

About you

  • Ability to manage, develop, and deliver constructive feedback to a senior team of Product Managers.
  • Extensive experience with product strategy at a customer facing tech company.
  • Demonstrates deep insight into the complex nature of the Australian television & streaming industry.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience engaging with senior leadership across large scale, complex organisations.
  • A champion of the customer and strong appreciation for great design.
  • Ability to navigate total ambiguity and solve complex problems through collaboration.
  • A positive and inspiration force for change
