Senior Civil Design Engineer

Your new role

My client is looking for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to work alongside the structural engineering team due to growth in their business.
You will work collaboratively with their clients, engineers and drafters to provide high quality civil design, documentation and advice.
This consultancy is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is well organised, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities of this role will involve assisting and supporting the company in:

• Managing the client relationship
• Delivering the full civil design process in collaboration with the client
• Delivery of key design stages (concept, design development, detailed design and documentation)
• Overseeing the civil design process for individual projects
• Preparing complete and accurate computations of civil elements
• Performing site inspections and issuing site instructions
• Managing time and budget performance
• Managing variations.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum five (5) years' local engineering design experience preferred
• Experience in full management of the civil design process, including:
• Concept design
• Design development
• Detailed design and documentation.
• Strong numeracy skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team
• Effective communication with fellow employees, architects, clients and other stakeholders
• Excellent internal and external communication both verbal and written communication
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent client service ethic and people skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Bachelor's in Civil / Structural Engineering
• NER registered / CPEng status or in the process of obtaining.
• Experience of working in consultancy environment as a civil/senior civil engineer
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards for civil design inc. but not limited to stormwaterdrainage, paving and road geometry design
• Competent in using civil engineering software such as Civil 3D, Civil Site Design, MUSIC and OSD4
• Competent in using AutoCAD for civil drafting
• Experienced in using Microsoft Office programs.
