We all have things in our lives that we want to change. Things that disappoint us; things that we know could be better. Worst of all can be the things that fall short of our expectations of others. The good news is that change is possible ... but not always. What we need is a dose of realism. There's no point in chasing an impossible dream. We may be able to alter our weight, but there's very little likelihood we can change our height. It may be necessary to modify our expectations; to accept that there may be boundaries or limitations; to take whatever it is life has handed us and make the most of it. It's always possible to be a better person. Achieving an improved or higher standard in that area has little to do with physicality or social situation and everything to do with our mentality. As we think, so we are. It's as we are that the rest of the world will see us. And it's as we are that we must live with ourselves. The key to becoming a better version of ourselves is to work on making one small positive modification at a time ... dolly steps, not gigantic strides. One foot in front of the other, one day at a time. It's the accumulation of small changes that becomes transformation.
