Police are investigating a fatal crash at Springwood this morning, May 7.
The Gazette understands a 56-year-old Penrith woman was killed in the crash on the Great Western Highway.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 8.30am today following a crash between two vehicles.
The female driver of one of the cars died at the scene.
The female driver of the other vehicle was trapped for a period of time before being released and airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Police from Blue Mountains Local Area Command are appealing for any witnesses who haven’t spoken to police to contact investigators.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
