As far as Tom Daniels is concerned, golf is about the best thing that could have happened to his son Harry, because the Wentworth Falls pair spend so much time together playing the sport.
On January 22, Harry entered a golf tournament at Richmond, and had his dad caddy for him.
The tournament was run by U.S. Kids Golf, which is a not-for-profit organisation.
It is the second time Harry has entered a tournament run by the organisation, and Mr Daniels said they both loved it.
“The best thing about this, I coach him in football and have forever, so here I can just come and be a dad,” he said.
“I don't have to be his boss, I'm his caddy so he's actually my boss.
“Harry loves it and I do too, because it is all about the kids at these events.”
Harry, 8, said he had improved his game since he went to the last of these events in the spring.
“I’ve been able to hit it further since last time I was here, last time I used to hit 95 metres but I hit about 110 metres now,” he said.
“I can hit a five iron over 100 metres sometimes.”
Mr Daniels said his son did a golf clinic at the Wentworth Falls Country Club, but he had become interested in tournament golf now.
“Harry and I play during the school holidays, but this is nice for him to do stuff for himself,” he said.
“We have a little course where Harry does a little clinic on Sundays but this was good for Harry to go and meet some other kids.”
