The annual Cultural Sharing Day which is part of the Aboriginal Artists in Blue Mountains Schools project will be held this year on Saturday, May 28 at the Mid Mountains Community Centre, New Street, Lawson from 10.30am–3pm.
In the morning there will be free workshops with local Aboriginal artists for students in years 5 – 9 who would like to enter the Schools’ Reconciliation Challenge run by the NSW Reconciliation Council. Places are limited, so students wishing to attend must book with MOCS on 4758 6811. Students attending the workshops must be accompanied by an adult.
There will be a BBQ lunch provided at noon. At 1pm there will be Welcome to Country and entertainment. There will also be an exhibition of artworks by students from 10 local schools which participated in this year’s Aboriginal Artists in Blue Mountains Schools project, before they are sent to Sydney for the Schools Reconciliation Challenge.
This project supports the Schools’ Reconciliation Challenge run by the NSW Reconciliation Council and is a partnership between Mountains Outreach Community Service, local schools and BM People for Reconciliation.
This is a free event and everyone is welcome.
