The Lapstone Hotel will be the venue on Saturday, January 7 for a one-night-only return of the popular radio and webcast show, The Sporting Chance.
Jono Lees and Matt Poynting will return to host the show from the Lapstone Hotel at 7pm on Saturday, January 7. A number of local sports personalities are confirmed and local acoustic duo Dame and the Mane will perform live.
It will be the first instalment of the sports analysis program since a three-show series was streamed live from the hotel in January last year.
Mr Lees said the event will be an innovative and interactive experience.
“The Sporting Chance has always been about delivering sport to the people of the Blue Mountains in a way that is engaging and new,” he said.
“We know as well as anyone that there are plenty of sports shows around, so we want to bring something that is fresh and has a local spin on it.”
The Sporting Chance began as a two-hour program on Radio Blue Mountains in 2008, and nearly two years after their final show in June 2014, Jono, Matt and co-host Gary Kime returned in front of the camera for a special summer edition of the program.
New South Wales, Penrith and Brisbane Heat cricket star Josh Lalor, Premier League netballers Lauren Hutchinson and Olivia Memmolo and Sydney Bears ice hockey pair Spencer Austin and Ron Kuprowsky appeared as guests on the show as viewers tuned in from around the world.
This year will see an even more dynamic show, said Mr Poynting, although the team is keeping tight-lipped about potential guest stars.
“We’ve got some very exciting guests lined up, but we’re going to keep you in suspense on that,” he said. “What we can tell you is that we’re really looking to bring some awesome variety to the show once again this year.
“January is a busy time, especially in the sporting world, so we’ve got a lot to cover. We’ll be sharing quite a unique perspective on a whole range of local and international sport, so it should be a lot of fun.”
With live music and guest appearances throughout the show, it’s an event not to be missed. Come in and meet the team on the night, or follow The Sporting Chance on Facebook and catch the live stream – https://www.facebook.com/TheSportingChance/
