Liberal member of the NSW Parliament and Katoomba resident, Shayne Mallard, has successfully passed a resolution in the NSW Upper House calling on all three levels of government to work together for the speedy rebuild of Katoomba RSL club.
Mr Mallard said the resolution demonstrated the importance parliament placed on community institutions like the RSL.
"This resolution will allow me to assist with any planning or regulatory hurdles that may hamper a speedy rebuild of the club," Mr Mallard said.

As a first step, Mr Mallard inspected the fire damaged club and met with the club president, Brian Turner, along with local ward 1 councillor Kevin Schreiber.
"Katoomba RSL Club provides vital services to our veterans as well an important social and community hub for the people of Katoomba. Let's all roll our sleeves up and rebuild this iconic club," Mr Mallard said.
The motion passed unanimously by the NSW Parliament noted that important irreplaceable local veteran memorabilia was destroyed in the fire and that it also had an impact on the regional tourism.
