The Blue Mountains Theatre is delighted to welcome one of Australia’s favourite performers to our stage, Melinda Schneider, with her sparkling show Melinda does Doris.
After a dazzling country music career that has won her six Golden Guitars, Schneider steps back in time to pay homage to one of her musical heroes, Doris Day.
“She is such a huge talent,” Schneider said, “a triple threat as they say – she could sing, dance and act. I thought then she was the best of everything a woman can be and when I grew up I wanted to be just like her.”
This passion resulted in the release of her shimmering tribute album Melinda Does Doris - A Tribute To Doris Day.
The concert includes Day’s early big band and jazz standards, as well as such timeless hits as Sentimental Journey, Que Sera, Sera, Everybody Loves a Lover and Secret Love.
