Indigenous recording artist Robyn Green will perform with the Mt Druitt Indigenous Choir in Katoomba on Sunday, October 15.
The performances will take place at the Church of New Life, Town Centre Arcade, Katoomba at 10am as well as Echo Point at 1pm and Scenic World after lunch.
“We are really exciting about having, Robyn Green and the Nulawala Choir and we welcome anyone in the community to visit us especially our Indigenous friends,” said Ian Bartley, Church of New Life leader and a director on the board of the choir.
Formed in 2010, the Mt Druitt Indigenous Choir is one of the most successful achievements of Nulawala Inc, the organisation behind the One Good Day outreach initiative which is about taking positive action to help disadvantaged Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and preserve their languages.
“The choir has performed by invitation at hundreds of venues across Sydney as well as touring to Cape York, Central Queensland and Victoria,” said Dave Armstrong, General Manager of Nulawala Inc, co-ordinator of the choir.
“We're especially proud to be standing on stage alongside such a talented Indigenous artist as Robyn Green singing in the Darug language to honour elders past and present.
“The event is aimed at establishing close relationships and promoting goodwill between our the Mountains and the Blacktown area,” he said.
