Upper Mountains based business Green Revolution Gardens has cleaned up at the annual landscape excellence awards.
Directors Matthew Thummler and Jocasta Milligan won two gold medals at the LNA Masters Landscapers Association Excellence Awards held in Sydney on October 27.
The awards were for excellence in residential maintenance over 1000m2 and the Graham Ross residential maintenance of the year award for their garden work at Falls Gallery in Wentworth Falls.
“We have been maintaining Falls Gallery for over four years now working with Ian and Anne Smith who own the property,” Ms Milligan said.
“It was a well established garden to start with but over the years we have made it look spectacular using organic materials to enhance the soil, and therefore making the plants much healthier.
“We have also continued the design theme in the garden planting out garden beds with stock grown in the on-site nursery.”
The duo do all aspects of garden maintenance including trimming the hedges, shaping other plants, pruning small trees, trimming and training the climbers and tidying the perennials.
“The main reason why the garden looks so amazing is the dedication that both we and Ian and Anne have to the gardens, we couldn’t do it without them,” Ms Milligan said.
“It’s absolutely fantastic to get this recognition for all the hard work that we put into all our gardens throughout the year. We’re very proud to be amongst those representing the Blue Mountains which … can be a formidable place to work at times, what with the snow, sleet, rain, hail and then the other end of the scale with the heat, wind and bushfires too.”
