The celebratory season is unquestionably the major focal point within the annual calendar of leading Blue Mountains gallery Rick Rutherford’s Country, 2017 marking the business’s 11th Christmas showings.
Into its fourth week, at the beginning of December the heritage store is brimming with Christmas treasures, gift-giving ideas and a host of festive wares seen nowhere else this Christmas season.
As owner Rick Rutherford said: “Over the years we have gained a reputation for offering one of the most unique Christmas ranges anywhere. People come from all over the region, interstate and even overseas to see our annual Christmas displays.
“Each of the 10 rooms of our Lawson heritage gallery is decked to the nines, as the entire building has been transformed into a veritable Christmas wonderland.
“We continue to maintain the themes of each of the rooms as well, with exhibits reflecting the respective Victorian, English, Folk, Children’s, Retro and Cottage looks. The individual trees are themed within each room to create the most dazzling array of festive decorator choices spread over dozens of beautiful trees.”
Rick Rutherford’s Country imports a huge cache of festive goods from many parts of the world and many are unique to the store in Australia. There are many one-off collectable Christmas treasures from which to choose as well as homewares and gifts to rival the biggest department stores.
Given the almost endless choice, the outstanding prices and unique selection, it’s not surprising that thousands of people annually make a pilgrimage to RRC at Christmastime to find that special treasure for the tree, for the family’s festive displays and to give as gifts.
Mr Rutherford said everyone can make the experience even more enjoyable with a delicious home-made treat, coffee and tea or savoury lunch delight in Nessie’s Daffodil Tearoom.
Rick Rutherford’s Country is located at 3 Badgery Crescent, Lawson (in the heritage precinct just over the railway line). It is open seven days from 10am to 5pm. Ph: 4759 3434.
