Greenwood childcare centre manager Samantha Stevenson was so pleased with her work experience young man, she hired him permanently.
Cameron Jackson, 19, is now working four days a week as a kitchenhand at the Katoomba centre.
He is another of the success stories of Nova’s 100 jobs in 100 days campaign.
“Cameron did some work placement with us – he was here every Friday,” Ms Stevenson said. “We were very impressed with him so we decided to employ him.”
Cameron, from Hazelbrook, had to finish his program with Nova first, but Greenwood was happy to wait.
And Cameron was very happy to get the job.
“It’s really good – I enjoy it,” he said.

He helps the chef prepare meals for the young charges in the centre, chopping up fruit and vegetables and clearing and cleaning plates and dishes.
