Fred Taylor, photographed by Medlow Bath photographer Tony Grant, has had a remarkable career in the RFS, joining at the age of 15 and continuing today with over 48 years of service. Fred has been involved in nearly all the major fires in the Blue Mountains during his years of service and has undoubtedly been responsible for the saving of many lives and the protection of property.
The late Peter Rushforth, one of Australia’s most esteemed potters, was photographed in his studio in 2012 by Blackheath photographer Graham McCarter. McCarter said: “Peter was an incredibly well known potter and teacher. World famous and loved by so many of his students. To me he had a wonderful serene energy – always a small smile on his face, while also, I thought, a slight sense of melancholy.”
Blue Mountains Portraits opens on February 2 from 6-9pm and runs until March 18.
