Local artist Christine Hyde presents colourful contemporary and sensual paintings in a solo exhibition at the Lindsay Cafe within the grounds of Norman Lindsay Museum and Gallery.
The exhibition opens on May 7 and runs until June 16.
Hyde’s inspirations for this upcoming exhibition are taken from her immediate Blue Mountains environs and nature in all its glory. She paints both en plein air and in her bush studio and boutique gallery in Springwood which she often opens to the public.
“I love the idea of showing my paintings chosen for this exhibition in an environment so similar to where I am inspired to create,” she said. “This exhibition intends to take the viewer through my dreamscapes rather than landscapes where shape and colour will form the metaphoric stories.”
A number of Hyde’s paintings and commissions hang in private homes in Australia, in the UK and France. Most recently her paintings have been selected for exibitions at Gallery One88 Fine Arts Gallery, Nolan-On-Lovel Fine Arts Gallery in Katoomba and The Edge.
Hyde is a member of the Nepean Art Society, the Blackheath Art Society and an active member of the Blue Mountains Artists Network. See www.christinehydeartworks.com.au.
