UPDATE 4pm: Three people have been injured in the accident, including a child.
An Ambulance NSW spokesman said two people have been transported by road ambulance to Nepean Hospital and a third was still being treated at the scene.
He said a male patient has a chest injury, a female patient has back and neck pain, and a third patient was reporting shoulder pain.
There are delays on the Great Western Highway following a major crash in Katoomba on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident, between a truck and two cars, occurred on the highway at Yeaman Bridge Road about 3.15pm.
One eastbound lane is closed to traffic.
Emergency services personnel are at the scene.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the area.
