British comedian Russell Brand's 71-year-old mother has been badly injured in a hit-and-run car crash.
Barbara Brand was travelling in the back of the award-winning actor's chauffeur-driven Audi when it collided with another car near Brentwood in Essex on Thursday morning, The Sun reports.
Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening, but Brand cancelled a Thursday night gig in Aberdeen, Scotland citing a "personal emergency" as he reportedly rushed to be with his mother.
Essex police say the driver of the car that hit the Audi fled the scene of the crash.
