Mountains Youth Services Team has received a $20,000 boost from the Commonwealth Bank.
Staff from the bank’s Katoomba and Springwood branches nominated the youth service as part of its Centenary Grants program that supports community organisations.
More than 13,000 current and retired bank employees donate a portion of their income to the program, with Commonwealth Bank contributing up to $2 million each year as well.
The inspiring and far reaching impact of the work undertaken by Mountains Youth Services Team was a crucial factor in it receiving the grants, which were presented at the Springwood branch on May 15.
“We’re thrilled to be able to support organisations like Mountains Youth Services Team in the important work they do for our local community,” said Commonwealth Bank Katoomba branch manager, Kelly Stansfield.
“It’s especially meaningful that we are able to celebrate 100 years of employee giving, by nominating an organisation to receive a Centenary Grant in our local community,” said Springwood branch manger, David Hersant.
In total, 1000 community organisations across the country will receive a Centenary Grant from Commonwealth Bank.
