A man has been arrested after police allegedly seized $100,000 worth of prohibited drugs from a car in the Blue Mountains.
About 11.20pm on Saturday, police detected a Holden Commodore station wagon allegedly travelling 96km/h in a 70km/h zone on the Great Western Highway at Medlow Bath.
After pulling over the car, officers from Nepean Traffic and Highway Patrol - assisted by Blue Mountains Police Area Command - searched the vehicle.
Officers seized 400 grams of methylamphetamine (otherwise known as ice), which had an estimated potential street value of $100,000.
Police also allege the 36-year-old man supplied a fake driver’s licence and resisted police as he was arrested.
He was taken to Katoomba Police Station where he was charged with supplying a prohibited drug greater than commercial quantity; using false document to obtain financial advantage; driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period; exceeding speed over 20 km/h; and resisting an officer in execution of duty.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
