Isaac Beggs, born in Mt Victoria, knew from an early age that he wanted to become a professional musician.
He studied at the Newtown Academy of Performing Arts and achieved a degree in music at the University of New England in Armidale.
To earn himself a reliable income he became a chef. Time in the kitchen still left him with enough energy to further improve his drumming skills and gave him the means to study in Cuba.
He is now a part of many musical projects, teaches drums at the Blue Mountains Music Academy, and conducts the academy’s drum corps, finally making a living from his drumming skills.
Beggs is playing a range of gigs in the next month. He is with Andie Isalie on June 1 at the old City Bank, Katoomba (free), on June 7 with K-Town Funky Horns at the Baroque Room of the Carrington Hotel at 8pm (free), on June 8 with Syndicate at the Old City Bank at 9pm (free), on July 6 with Syndicate at old City Bank at 9pm (free) and on July 7 with Papa Gonzo at the Hotel Gearin, tickets at the door, check with venue for time and cost.
