A second man has been charged over the alleged kidnapping of a 12-year-old boy on the Gold Coast.
Yu "Sunny" Zhang, 20, has been charged with torture, deprivation of liberty and assault occasioning bodily harm over the May 11 abduction of the schoolboy.
Zhang was extradited from Sydney on Friday and will face Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday.
His father Zheng Jie Zhang, 53, has previously been charged with six offences including kidnapping for ransom.
Zheng Jie Zhang was denied bail after facing Southport Magistrates Court last week.
The boy was on his way to his Mudgeeraba home from school when he was allegedly grabbed and bundled into a black SUV with a bag placed over his head.
Police claim the abduction was an attempt to secure a ransom after the alleged kidnappers fell out with the boy's family over "substantial" personal loans.
A public tip-off led to the boy's discovery in the northern NSW town of Grafton less than 24 hours later, allegedly in the same car as Zheng Jie Zhang.
After the elder Zhang appeared in court, police identified his son as a person of interest in the kidnapping.
On Tuesday, Sunny Zhang handed himself in to police in Sydney's southwest.
