Peter Fisk has photographed 1100 weddings, filed pictures from accident scenes for a newspaper in England and spent several years taking happy snaps on cruise ships.
He also ran a store in Springwood for 22 years which began as Springwood Photo Imaging, later becoming Springwood Photo and Scrapbooking.
But now the North Richmond man picks up the camera as a hobby, taking photos on his travels around the country, which he’ll print on cards and sell at markets in Winmalee and Emu Plains.
One of his favourite shots is of a homestead in Berrima, where the lighting was perfect for an instant.
“I had stopped for a coffee and noticed the cloud come over and the light coming through,” he recalled.
Mr Fisk loves taking close-ups, and has a particular affinity with trees, and patterns in nature.
He studied photography in England, migrating to Australia at 26, but was taking photos long before his studies were completed, as his photographer father Reginald Fisk did some work for the local newspaper.
“Dad would send me out rather than him get out in the middle of the night and do things,” Mr Fisk said.
The photographer has a stall at the Winmalee Artisan Markets, which are held on the second Sunday of the month at Winmalee Public School from 10am – 2pm.
