Yarramundi fatality
A man in his 60s has died following a single vehicle crash at Yarramundi.
Emergency services were called to Springwood Road about 11pm on Saturday, June 16, following reports a car had rolled down an embankment, a NSW police statement said.
“The driver, a man believed to be aged in his 60s, died at the scene,” the statement said. “Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.”
Police will now prepare a report for the coroner.
Police search for drunkards
Police investigations are continuing into claims two intoxicated males were “turning up chairs in a melee” on June 10 in a Katoomba pub.
A police statement said about 8.30pm on Sunday June 10, “police attended a licensed premise at Katoomba regarding an allegation that two intoxicated males were turning up chairs in a melee”.
The men left the premises just prior to the police arriving.
Police conducted a patrol shortly afterwards and spoke to two men, a 21-year-old from Bowenfels and an 18-year-old from Lithgow.
Inquiries are continuing with the licensed premise regarding this matter, Detective Chief Inspector Dietmar Almer told the Gazette.

Robbers stole a school bag from a car parked on the road outside Derain Cresent in Hazelbrook recently.
Detective Chief Inspector Dietmar Almer said between 4pm on Saturday June 9 and 9.30am on Sunday June 10, unknown person/s entered a 2005 Black Mitsubishi Outlander that was locked and parked outside Derain Crescent Hazelbrook.
A school bag was taken from inside the car but it was later located a short distance away from the car with its contents intact.
Inspector Almer said he wanted to again remind vehicle owners to “secure their cars when not in use”.
Traffic accident at Leura
Investigations are continuing after a four wheel drive rolled onto its side on the Great Western Highway at Leura.
The incident on June 11 caused traffic delays westbound through the Mountains after the car came to rest on its side across two lanes.
The occupants, including a two year old child, were taken to hospital for assessment.
A Top Notch Video cameraman who recorded the drama, said the vehicle caused damage to power lines in the area and one lane remained closed while repairs were carried out.
