Anyone under the age of 35 would not remember a time when Christie Dentures was not on the highway at Blaxland.
Dell Christie started his business there 34 years ago, after growing up in Mt Riverview. The business now includes his two sons, Ben and Dane.
It is also no longer just a denture clinic. Mr Christie said they are also a commercial laboratory, servicing dentists from Katoomba to Erskine Park and Richmond, as well as some hospitals.
“We chose Blaxland because it was always close to home, and central enough for patients from the Upper Mountains and plains.
“Our location provides quick and easy access, close to rail and bus, and our ground floor clinic allows for wheelchair and walker access.”
Mr Christie believes one of the reasons for the business’s longevity is listening to his patients’ wants, and providing a solution in a way they can afford. Education is also important, whether or not they can provide the service needed.
“We specialise in dentures and custom-made mouthguards, and provide high quality affordable dentures and custom-made mouthguards to our community and beyond,” Mr Christie said.
In fact the business gives back to the community by providing mouthguards for local football clubs Emu Plains Juniors and the Glemore Brumbies. They also provide scorecards for bowling clubs in the Lower Mountains and Penrith.
