A solid performance in the finals of the Under 23 Canoe Slalom World Championships has seen Noemie Fox take home a bronze medal.
The former Blaxland High School student and younger sister to Olympian Jessica Fox, bounced back on July 22 from a difficult day of qualifying to win bronze in the C1 (single canoe).
Facing off against the world’s best paddlers at the championships held over five days in Ivrea, Italy, the 21-year-old had to rely on a second run to make it through to Sunday’s C1 semi-finals.
It’s been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.

She missed qualification for the K1 (single kayak) earlier last week, but put that all behind her with a solid performance in the C1 final.
Fox said her finals result was a great relief after a tough few days, despite picking up a two-second penalty for a gate touch.
“I’m super happy, it’s been a long and tough week,” Fox said. “To finish with a solid run, where I felt really good, it’s a shame about the touch, but I’m really happy,” she said.
“It’s been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. I think I had a good preparation, I would have loved to have a go in kayak, but I’m just glad I paddled to my potential and my ability today.”
