It was a full house at the Blue Mountains Theatre on July 27 when the legendary Glenn A. Baker AM hosted Tijuana Taxi.
The acclaimed Sydney band delivered a delightful homage to the music of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.
Tijuana Taxi is a dapper eight piece ensemble that evokes the mood and music of the sixties, faithfully recreating 21 classics hits of Herb Alpert’s unique, upbeat and melodic ensemble, including Spanish Flea, Tijuana Taxi, The Lonely Bull and A Taste Of Honey.
Led by renowned bassist Tina Harris, Tijuana Taxi is itself a who’s who of Sydney’s finest Latin and jazz musicians and this show has sold out several times at Sydney’s acclaimed Camelot Lounge. It can now add the Blue Mountains Theatre at Sprinwood to that list.
Glenn A. Baker will present another show on September 14, introducing the Nancy & Lee Experience to take the audience on a riotous journey through the classic hits of the 1960s pop music’s quirkiest duo – Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood.
