The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah is ready to burst into colour as tens of thousands of flowers bloom from September to October.
The Daffodil Festival (August 24–September 2) is a highlight on the yearly calendar as it heralds the welcome arrival of Spring, and transforms the garden into a sea of colour.
More than 10,000 new bulbs have been planted this year to ensure a spectacular display. This includes 300 new species of African bulbs, many endangered species and 120 new daffodil cultivars. These great new additions will mean that there will be tens of thousands of individual bulbs in the Garden’s collection.
“Spring is always one of the most popular times of year to see the Garden, and this year is certainly no exception,” said Greg Bourke, curator at the garden. “I would highly recommend the Brunet meadow, as we’ve added 10,000 new bulbs to that area alone”.
Visitors can experience the Daffodil Display at the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah from the end of August to October. We have many exciting bookable activities to accompany, including a Daffodil Discovery Walk, Growing Bulb Workshop and a new Bulbs of the Taurus Mountains of Turkey talk with our Senior Horticulturalist, Mat Murray.
Spend a whole weekend amongst the flowers by visiting our Jungle Lodge. For more information about the Festival events and our Spring activities, see our website.
